John Woo is to turn Stranglehold, last year's video game sequel to his classic action movie Hard Boiled, into a movie.
Usually the games industry feeds off the big screen, but in this case, Woo says the new movie will feature sequences lifted directly from the game, woven into an entirely new story.
Woo's production company is currently developing a script for the movie, which is likely to return star Chow Yun-Fat to the role of Inspector Tequila. Woo is not expected to direct. Hard Boiled is often cited as one of the most influential HK action movies ever made, but it has yet to debut on Blu-ray. Hopefully this development will hasten a remastering.
This might actually work, an adaptation of a game, that's a sequel to a film (Hard Boiled). But if Woo isn't directing, then I don't really care - you're basically left with another Replacement Killers. (A film which Woo was originally going to direct, but didn't and the film's quality suffered because of it.)

Is John Woo the Hidden Fart, Crouching Turd guy?

No, John Woo is not the Hidden Fart, Crouching Turd guy.

The formula is so simple.
-slow motion
-long takes
-real stunts
-real squibs
-people diving sideways while shooting
Of course they'll fuck it up.

Obviously I was just taking a cheap shot at the aforementioned movie because it was on my mind. And because "Woo" sounds Japanese.
oh god i'm a racist.

I have yet to finish Stranglehold, got maybe halfway through it and just stopped with no desire to go on. I don't know, I should love it, it's right up my alley. Maybe it's just that I feel I've already played this game a million times after Max Payne, Dead to Rights, True Crime, The Punisher, Enter The Matrix, The Matrix: Path of Neo, Just Cause, 50Cent: Bulletproof, Total Overdose, etc.

You might need to stop playing games altogether. :erm: ;)

Then what would I do with all this free time and blood thirst?
