Our classroom is doing a job shadow week.
We get to work somewhere local, and I guess I'm working at:
THQ!
I know they dont make the best games but still, I have to call them and talk about it so hopefully they'll let me lurk around the office for a week.
We all have little resume's and mine is: basic programing,Writing talent, and creative directing.
Have any of you guys done any thing like this?

Hopefully you will get to shadow at THQ for the week. That would probably be pretty cool.
Our school does not do job shadowing. The closest thing we have is an internship, which is generally a paid full-immersion experience into the field. I got to do mine with a small tax firm, and got to do a lots and lots of taxes. That probably sounds pretty boring to most people, but you get to find out lots about the regs, and also find out the stories about and meet the clients behind those tax forms. It was fairly hectic, but not bad at all.

That's not an internship, that's a summer job.
Internships aren't paid.

Hey now, don't knock THQ.

Maybe you could fix their website for them. (
http://www.thq.com/)
It seems a bit buggy.

Please ask them when we'll get to play Destroy All Humans on PC. I think, after Stubbs the Zombie, we should have Destroy All Humans.

The Agoura THQ, or the Phoenix THQ? 'Cuz I happen to work at the Agoura THQ, and it'll freak me right the fuck out having another TTLG'er there. [edit]Also, I doubt they'll let you do this, because there's rather a lot of stuff under NDAs and such, and they're pretty strict with the information control. If you were to apply for a tester position as a summer job, I can see that working out, but a one week hanging about the office and poking things to see how it's done? Quite a bit less likely.

THQ doesn't make any games, they own studios that make games.
Are you going to be going to a particular studio, or to the publisher?

More specifically, DAH 2. DAH 1 was fun, but the one thing it had more than anything else was potential, as opposed to proper gameplay. DAH 2 tightened things up in that regard, which ultimately makes it the better game, imo. Although it did get a bit strange toward the end,
I mean it's called Destroy all Humans, right?!?Also:

+1
(
http://www.thq-games.com/uk/game/show/951) This (
http://www.thq-games.com/uk/game/show/1021) is not (
http://www.companyofheroesgame.com/) a bad line-up (
http://www.destroyallhumansgame.com/) for any publisher (
http://www.stalker-game.com/) to have.

Those games are great. I'm talking about the cheaply made games that are usually aimed towards movies *cough*shrek*gag*. I definetly agree Stalker and Destroy all Humans 2 are great.
But I may not be able to go. Oh well, EA Games is next!
(I pray for Activision)
