Taking a look at the health screen from in game, I noticed something a bit strange. At perfect health, every body part is labelled 100/100. Now... is that 100 a percentage? Or is it points? If I have 100/100 health, I have 100% health obviously, but do I have 100 hit points? From the health screen, I quote... "The torso is by far the portion of the human anatomy able to absorb the most damage" This leads me to believe that the 100 is a percentage. If this is so, why do they have to put 100/100? Just put 100%.
What about other creatures? If you use targeting, it shows their health in percentages also. But weapons list a base damage. For example... The rifle Base damage: 25. Does this mean it does 25 points of damage to the targeted body part?
How many hit points does JC actually have? How many hit points to other creatures have?

C'mon .. you can discuss everything until it sucks because you keep thinking about it. Let's just leave it the way it is, for it's good the way it is. Mkay?

He's just curious. :p
If I remember correctly all body parts are simply 100 hitpoints.

Amorpheus got it smack dab in the eye of the needle. ^^

All body parts are 100 hitpoints. So I guess the health screen info is just meant to sound better eh? Info makes sense IRL, but DX is just a game.
Edit: Wait a minute... Thinking about that, it doesn't seem right... 'cause a head shot is an immediate kill regardless of base damage...

Plus, the Stealth Pistol isn't an instant anything. Instant pigeon shooter maybe. ;)

There are probably damage modifiers for each body part. Thus the base damage would be how much a weapon does, say, if it hits the torso. But the head may be 2X or 3X as much and the arms may be 1.5X or 2X as much damage. I really don't know but I imagine it would be something like that.

On Easy difficulty JC is a walking tank with 400 HP, while on Realistic he only has 100. In comparism, an average guard has 100 HP, while a more powerful character (say, Walton Simons) has 300. The HP points of a typical NPC does not change with difficulty level.

Ahhh, Agent Monkeysee, that would make a lot more sense. I'm forgetting my Thief teachings. ;) Illuminatus, where's that info from? Uncia, I said head shot :cheeky:, although you're probably right about the stealth pistol. Killing pigeons I just snipe with my rifle. :ebil:

The info's from a Prima guide I browsed through a long time ago (you can also use the Targeting aug to tell how many HP points any NPC has).
