It's only been up for a couple of months. At first it was some very basic stuff -- why do games cost so much and take so long to make, why are publishers being publishers, etc, so I didn't think much of it at first but lately he's been adding some more interesting things in the mix.

The basic stuff's pretty good, too. While the obvious suspects - graphics, art, scale - are at play for why games cost so much, the other thing that I didn't think was nearly as prevalent was disorganisation and mismanagement. Taking him at his word, it makes sense, though obviously we're not going to get a lot of companies admitting to those.

Mismanagement and scope creep definitely play a huge role, but I think the over reliance on contract workers and constant turnover also destroy project momentum. When teams have to keep rebuilding institutional knowledge every few years, it burns through time and budget fast.
