When i beat the game with the "renegade" ending, the first thought into my head was that Jankowski was not a free human at all, but merely an Omar drone programmed to mislead me into killing all the people in power. Do you think that is what he is too, or do you think he's just an honest mercenary at that point?

That's a tough one. He did plea for the PC to help him get out of the Omar.
I haven't seen what happens if you don't help him with money to get out of Cairo, so maybe there are some differences, but he seemed pretty genuine to me.

I think he's just a guy workign for himself, and an anarchist.

I think he was vastly annoying (that voice, I can't stand that voice, not nearly as cool as the Omar), and could have easily been manipulatied into doing the Omar's bidding. However I was totally suprised when after killing everyone the world became a smoldering crater. I was expecting a dark age ending or something, not a post-apocalyptic one, so I figured he was just trying to save the world until I saw the ending. I was not dissapointed though, because I wanted an ending where the Omar won (granted I also wanted to be able to become an Omar too, it would have been pretty cool).

My first thought, too, was "Jankowski did this to get the Omar in power!".

Hmm.. my vote is "he's an easily-manipulated idiot that the Omar tricked."

Can someone who left him to rot in Cairo fill us in on how he makes his appearance at Liberty Island? I know if you give him money for a pilot you can either meet him in the comm van, or when you bump off the first faction leader he'll appear over your infolink.

he gets assimilated, says its awesome, and tells you to kill all the leaders via infolink
