No people make war hell.
I've seen it, the killing is overblown but it's pretty good and good movie. A bit too much of Craig's lips though.
I wonder what the Bond maniacs think though, they did cut a lot of what makes a James Bond movie.
Bartender: Shaken or stirred?
James Bond: Do I look like I give a damn?

Yes, but there was a context in which he said it that made it entirely appropriate. Nobody ever mentions that.

More like they cut a lot of the stuff that makes Bond a parody of itself, more like.
Also, agree with Jackablade about context.

I know that, still funny.
As for the parody, yeah maybe. But it's like video games in a way, James Bond fans don't just want the action movie format, they want every little quirk that makes it a James Bond movie. The whole British gentlemen womanizing secret agent charged to save the world every new movie is a parody enough already, people liked that. They liked over the top. The closest thing I have that pops in my head right now is the Fallout 1 vs Fallout 2 talk. Fallout 2 had identical engine, freedom but the feel was more comical than the 1st and some people say that's not "
Fallout". It's like not having any of the quirks in a Metal Gear Solid game, or saving the princess in Zelda. You can read things like that from time to time, the devs thought they made a better game but the little things are all different and people don't like the franchise anymore. Anyway the transformation isn't that bad for James Bond, I just don't know for their hardcore fans.
I have to say it was funny towards the end when I started thinking *SPOILERS*
OMG James Bond is going to settle down and quit MI6???
Heh, I scented where that was going right off.
Anyway, yes, awesome movie, and Eva Green is absolutely scrumptious in it.

The "do I look like I give a damn" line was perhaps the most genuine Bond-ism in the film.

Saw this a couple hours ago, pleasantly surprised. Not surprised really, since I had heard it was pretty good.
One thing I couldnt quite figure out, I was probably just not paying attention, but
After the card game, the CIA were supposed to have 'dibs' on the banker guy. When Bond and whats-her-face were eating dinner, did she not get the message on the phone saying that the CIA had picked him up? I just wasnt real clear on how that transition went, unless that was the guy doublecrossing them
Its probably a simple matter of me mis-hearing.

I really enjoyed this movie. Daniel Craig is a really good Bond and has <strike>THAT HOT BODY</strike> the gritty attitude spot on. I was really surprised at the 12A rating, especially with that cringe worthy torture scene - OUCH! and the fight scenes in general. I thought it was interesting that he chose to pretty much carry out his own mission without really being directed by MI6. Overall, a well made movie. :thumb:
