The surprising point made there is that Humphrey Bogart was as old when he made the Maltese Falcon as Keanu Reeves, Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise are today. He just wasn't trying to seem young, because the in-thing at the time was to appear older. Smoking and drinking likely played a role as well.
