Thank god that they're finally releasing games on DVDs! Hopkins I agree!
I just wish you could get Star Wars:Knights Of The Old Republic on PC was a DVD-Rom...
...instead of FOUR cds!!

It's about time game publishers are starting to shift towards DVDs. It's 2004, for chrissakes!

Yeah, but what's the point in DVDs for a game which only uses one or two CDs? For 4 or 5 or 10 though, DVDs make sense. :)

Multi-lingual versions. I prefer to play games in their original language (if I'm capable of understanding it) and it really pisses me of, when I buy a game and have no other choice but to play it translated (don't know if this concerns major countries like Germany or France, but here in Czech Republic it's becoming a standard). DVDs offer space for more languages = everyone will be happy and happy gamers make better sales.
Not to mention all the extra content you can stuff on a DVD ("making of", for example). It's a logical step forward to bring games the status they already deserve - along movies, books, popular music.

Exactly. I really wish the companies would include some background info into the disks- artwork, trailers, and documentation of development progress and deleted scenes/ideas. There were quite a lot of them concerning both DXs. Plus, if at some point your DVD gets scratched or some such, it's much easier to replace it than replacing CD #3 or so.

The question is - how many game developing companies will be so generous to make more than one language versions of the game. It just pushes the costs up.
Do not expect multilanguage versions of games from them, anytime soon.
It will take few more years for the games to be generally equal to movies and books.
A computer game is a different medium.
