So was your post a cheap and "clever" way of saying you don't like those, or just a way of taking a gratuitous dig at me?
I mean, I'm
genuinely interested.
(read: get out)
I thought you might have been being dry. But I'm having less trouble deciding whether that is still the case.

I thought the script was a good 'un. Summed up why I hated the game.

It was pretty funny. Laid out like that it really shows that 'squished' quality really clearly, like stuff has been cut and rearranged so extensively there's parts that don't make much sense anymore (Mako Ballistics; why can't you get out of the Cairo arcology without going through the mosque?)
The trouble actually starts in the opening cutscene, which is clearly going for some basic dunduuuun excitement generation but seems to be edited wrong: the bots should spot the bomber before he sets it off. There's no point in ugently racing bots and chase music once the bomb has gone off. (this scene also implies Apostlecorp has some vast intelligence network to give them advanced warning of this event too. Something which vanishes for the rest of the game. I guess you could say it was all destroyed in the incident, but they seem like a pretty widespread and defensive group yet they can't figure out what the Templars are up to without your help and they don't even trust you.)
And Saman was funny. One of the most telegraphed badguys ever. There's a bit towards the end where he says "Why so hostile? I'm not eeeeeevil". I actually laughed out loud.
Which is another thing. They'll wipe out an entire city just to get at one apostlcorp lab. A tactic they never employ again and never threaten to despite their apparent desperation. Just thinking there's an Apostlecorp lab hidden in Tarsus Cairo ought to be enough. The vaguest co-ordinates of where JC is ought to definitely be enough.
Aaanyway; I liked that journey inside JCs fragmented memories quite a lot actually. Also a lot of people seem to hate it more because the bloke is bland as hell. They should play it as the chick, she's much better and some bits like the relationship with Billy and the inevitable fight to the death fit better, to me anyway.
(oddly, I wanna go play it again now)

I'm just starting another replay of IW (as the chick, of course) and still love this game. Only problem is, I can't figure out how to take screenshots. But IW still rocks. (Imho)
