Oh and Deus Ex: Invisible War was not a bad game
per se. I think twisty really nailed it when it comes to the scope of the game. To me, it could have been a worthwhile sequel to the original but lacked the honesty to tell the publisher that it needed one ore two more years in development and being tailored for X-Box wasn't a good idea.
DX:IW was one of the first victims of multiplatform development and considering what we got, was more of a half-hassed, rushed job than a failure. IMO, it suffered less the transition to multiplatform than Thief: Deadly Shadows (I'll likely be insulted for that again ), into which I've never been able to get.

I´ve played two hours through IW some months ago and had the constant feeling of this is nothing like the original DX I hate this abomination hate it hate it hate it I want Gunther to say he is ze top agent of UNATCO and zat it is different now. Et cetera. But then again, that´s the purist snob inside me and that guy needs to get kicked once in a while, so I´ll probably give it another shot soon.

It wasn't a very good game though either, for reasons which have been explained many many times. Tiny levels, bug-eyed character models, terrible writing, unlikable characters, meaningless decisions, intrusive HUD, universal ammo, etc.

While playing the game, don't forget to pick up a dead body, aim straight up, throw it, and fire your SMG continuously. It looks quite funny because the bullets make the body fly sky high and it does a little dance.
Also, try taking the Strength biomod. Then you can go around hurling coffee cups at AIs and killing them.
In the crowded city sections of the game, a scrambler grenade is always a good thing.

I remember going to the little medical area underneath the cathedral in Cairo. Watching all the people sad and desperate as everyone around them is dying. And the doctor, after I heard his plea, just stood there is despair as I threw dead bodies of his loved ones at him, only constantly repeat in the most depressing voice: "Please stop that..."
Also when I entered the academy and saw the first little girl, my first reaction was very natural - I took out my pistol and shot her right in the forehead point-blank, as her dead body knocked backwards on her ass quite believably. Soon, the whole school went bats hit insane and came after me, as I killed other children. Even Fallout 3 wont let you do that!
fuck you IW haters :D

My interest in this game just doubled.
Sadly, the rest of the replies in this thread have been negative enough that doubling my interest still leaves me in the red.

I really enjoyed the game. In some ways, it was more diverse and flexible than the original one. And I never minded switching between maps.
IW was more about gameplay and less about design, in comparision with the original one. Universal ammo was a great balancing tool, but it was nonsense logic-wise. And the ability to pick sides was a cool feature per se, but it didn't really work story-wise.
