I've been up for 25 hours. Why? - by Digital Nightfall

This could go down as the most under-rated game in history. I really cannot understand the huge explosion of anger this game generated, or the way people reacted and continue to react to it. To be honest I find it all very troubling.

Then you must not have liked (or even played) the original DX much.

Yeah I know, sad isn't it? Try picking up the original DX some time-- it's great!

Isn't it the whole purpose of a game to provide fun? If you don't like it don't play it, don't tell people THEY shouldn't like it because it is not hetero. It may not be as good as the first, but what is.

I really don't get your point. I don't know why you (wrongly) assume that just because I think Invisible War is fundamentally a good game, despite it's flaws, that I cannot have played Deux Ex. I'll just say the exact same thing to you then:
Yeah I know, sad isn't it? Try picking up IW some time-- it's great!
It makes about as much sense as what you said to me.

Maybe your conversations would be more fruitful if you responded with something beyond an emoticon.

Maybe your argument would be more fruitfull if you had a point. You dont like dx:iw fine, I don't like barbara streisand, but I don't feel like posting on antistreisand sites. You don't like Dx:IW and want to the world to know that dx1 was better, but we allready know that. The people that do like it have about 8 hour (+8 fun statistic if you want to have a number for it) more fun gameplay then you have, just because it just didn't meet your oh so leet requirements. Being a casual gamer can save you from a lot of emotional stuff which makes you poste your opinion on fansites where nobody listens anyway because they just like the damn game.

In most ways I preferred DX:IW over the original DX, and I loved DX. The only thing that I truly hate about DX:IW is the amount of content: small levels, short overall playtime. Those are huge faults, but the fact that I was left wanting more of the game only made me realize how much I enjoyed what was there. Then again, there are plenty of great games that I have a similar complaint with (JK2, NOLF2, Arx Fatalis were all way too short for my taste).

Yeah, IW may be fun and immerssive - but IMO the overall gameplay mechanics is still inferior to that of DX. What Spector and his team did to IW resulted in a smoother, yet quite shallow and short gameplay experience. It's quite intense at times, but not as deep as the prequel.
