Actor mesh candles are frobbable by default. You do not need to add any properties to frob them out or pick them up.

I know that. But it won't work. ;) It won't frob, I cannot pick it up, it won't highlight.

Have you tried all the candles in T3Ed just to see if they work or not? There's only about 4, I believe.

Those candles are frobbable right out of the "box".

Now, c'mon, guys, don't you think I am aware that they are frobbable from the start? That still does not change that they are not working for me. If you look at my editing history, you will see that I typically have odd issues like this with editors. It does for everyone else and not for me, it's like women and cars except in this case it's woman and design engines. :laff:

Do you place them in the 3D window? Flux said that was the only way to place actors, anyway, it's still more useful than moving things up all the time after placing them in top view mode.
Do other actors/lights work? Did you install this thing according to Komag's tutorial?

Got it. I deleted the candle (Mediumcandle) and put a new actor in. It still would not work, but then I set IsFrobbable and FrobBias again, and this time it works. A side note, the frobbias of the shutters seem to be affecting the frobbias of the candle and book inside the small room. I bet that is part of the problem, but at least now I can actually turn the candle off.
Yes, I installed it according to his tut. Everything else works fine. It is me, I swear. I wear watches, and they break in an hour - it's some kinda aura :joke:
I got Garrettloader up and running too, for some extra inspirational material. It seems to be working better than before, which is awesome.

What values are the frobbias and highlight distance? I think the default highlight distance is 128 but I'm not sure. I have some secret book switches in one of my missions and I set the highlight to 60 so you have to be quite close.
Have you tried placing the candle in a different room and then moving it to the one you want? Have you tried placing it in each of the view windows (front, side etc.) then moving it to where you want it?
You could make a new map with only one room in it and put a candle in there and see if it works.

Do you have the same effect on electronic locks and burglar alarms? You might make a good taffer :p :joke: :sly:

Kind of. I believe FrobBias decides how quickly the frob highlight "snaps" to a certain actor. If the book was bigger and even had a greater FrobBias, I wouldn't wonder if you could only frob the candle from a few positions.

That is definitely something I should test out.

Heh. I tend to set off some car alarms when near them and make radios go to static. You are giving me ideas...:sly:
