I've been searching this forum until I got a headache so... - by Caradavin

If you moved around your zone portals or they're inside a solid area, you can get those too, or bad geometry.

It seems the problem was that I had them aligned too well with the edges of corridors. I put them a bit into the corridor and jagged from each other, and now it seems to be working well. Who knows for how long...
I did not realize that the sky would be zoned.

The zone property icon in the skybox is something normal. I guess you should have a look at your brushes now. You cannot align them too well. In vertex editing mode select every single corner if necessary and press Alt (?) + RMB to make it snap to grid (this useful combination is AFAIK not explained in Komag's tutorial). The report-off-grid-brushes function is something terrible since it might mess up the whole level.

Maybe that's what fixed it, I took one of the bigger rooms and sunk it and then sunk another two areas, so there is some variance in height. It looks beautiful now, I truly hope it stays that way so I can focus on detailing.
I updated the pic link above with my most recent building as of this morning. I think it is coming along nicely. Thanks for everyone's help and patience. :thumb:

Looks like I might have to go into a mission for this one. I set up a candle, gave it the TurnCandleLightOff script, and it wouldn't highlight, so I set highlight and frob bias - still no highlight. So, I need to find another way of figuring this out and although I have found lights and scripts on wiki, and some candle posts here, I am having no luck finding what I'm searching for. Or, maybe, when I cannot properly find something anywhere by searching, I should just go to bed...:laff:

Did you use an actor or a static mesh? I believe I once put a candle actor into my mission and it worked right from the start. Static meshes do nothing except standing around. It's actors you need to make them interactive.

Use a candle from the actor browser and then in properties, under Light, set it to off.

Why set it to off? :weird:

I just saw that and assumed he wanted the candle to be off, before realising that static mesh candles are always off.
Did you add the 'Frob -> Is frobbable -> true' property Caradavin? You must add this aswell as highlight distance and frob bias to make something frobbable.

It's an actor, not static. I want it to be frobbable like in OM, so he can pinch the candle out. I tried it out as soon as I put it in, but I could not frob it. Hmm, I was looking for some type of Isfrobbable, can't remember if I put that property in with the others or not. I even put a triggerscript in but saw that it already had it, so I tried inheritscript, maybe I will just delete it and put another in and see if it works. Then I will go from there. Was there a release of scripts for T3 by any chance (like Gaylescripts for T2)?
