I've been searching this forum until I got a headache so... - by Caradavin

Obviously I am using the wrong search terms. I need to know how to launch the command console in the game, I hate doing it the credits way (I thought I asked this years ago, too, but danged if I can find anything on this). Also, and I figured this had to be somewhere as well, I have a great skybox, but I had a pier going off into it, which was a problem because then you could just walk off the pier and walk around like 5 feet above the ocean. So, the only feasible thing I could come up with since I could not find tall fence static meshes (wtf? lol) was to condense the mesh with the skybox (5 out of 6 faces are fake backdropped) to be perfectly around the pier. Well, now I can see a cutaway of part of my map that is around the corner. So, can someone either
a. provide me with links to this crap, cause I can't seem to find it
b. help me figure this out
I went to the FleshWorks wiki, but there is hardly anything on it for thief 3 from what I could find. Maybe I've lost my searching ability......:nono: Thanks.

Thanks, that helps with the console question. I much appreciate, I used "launching command console" for the search term. I guess I need to not be so specific. :laff: I did get the basic questions link, but after about page 5, my eyes began to bleed........:eww:
I'm wondering if the use of zones will somehow block away the cutoff view of my map through the skybox.

I found that link on the wiki when I searched, but I did not notice it mentioning anything about how to access the console. Maybe that needs to be added to it?
Thanks for the tutorials link. :thumb:

It might be due to the fact that I'm not a native speaker, but could you please provide a little sketch or screenshot to show us your problem? :weird: Fences are to be found in the STAIRS/RAILINGS section and metal bars (like in a prison) among the FOUNDATIONS or nearby. If that's what you were looking for.

I would love to do that, but printscreen does not work and even though I now know how to access the command console, it does not work either. And the fences in the fence section were very short. However, I did not try foundations, but I would think those would be short as well. I kinda miss the ease of editing objs with Dromed.
Found post on screenshots! Woot.
Lemme see if this works:

Under "create special brush" I believe is the option to create an invisible collision wall, so you could put 3 of these around your pier. I believe it was also determined that these brushes don't interfere with other bsp geometry creating holes and whatnot.

The most simple invisible wall is a semisolid sheet painted with bf texture (and cast shadows turned off)
