...to the beauty of complex dynamic systems. Or rather, the visualisations of the strange attractors in them.
There are fractal generators, and then there are fractal generators that succeed in introducing something interesting into the old formula.

http://www.btinternet.com/~ndesprez/gallery.htm) to some of the images created by Chaoscope, but I still dig it. All it took was a bit of tweaking of the Julia Set parameters, and a tap on F4 to render it.

http://img137.imageshack.us/img137/2903/dancingspriteszs0.jpgThe neat thing about this program is that it allows you to see the changes you make in the attractors of your choise in real-time, changing the image in the preview window as you turn the sliders. Or, if you're lazy, just click on F3 and let the program find a strange attractor within the set for you. You can rotate the image, change its dimensions, select the rendering mode from five options (gas, liquid, light, plasma, solid), adjust the gradients, gamma, brightness, and loads of set-specific parameters, and then render the image according to the number of iterations you've selected.
The results are often pretty spectacular, and using the software is dead easy; no understanding of mathematics required.
I'm strangely attracted to seeing a CommChat gallery. As this is the CommChat, it's given that the results will be strange. But will they be attractive? Show us!
