Thank you Mara, this is a personal cause for you on behalf of your mother and it both moves and humbles me to see my name on your page. This campaign is to honour those who succumbed to cancer and I am one of the fortunate ones and for that im not taking it for granted. I was compelled to share my experience with you as this post marks an anniversary for me. I wish it was to mark one year of being cancer free but I was diagnosed in March of 2005 when my doctor found a smallish lump the size of chickpea on the left side of my left breast. I would have likely not have noticed it. Since then I was put on an aggressive treatment and for that alone i would like to see a cure as it is hellish to go through. That proceeded for nine months and since my last test six weeks ago there has been no signs of cancer. So i hope a year from now i will be celebrating my one year \o/!
MrDuck i would like you to know that you have been a virtual shoulder for me to lean on the past months and your words have always brought me alot of cheer and you can make a lass feel damn sexy. You even got me out of lurking. You know any woman will say that losing the hair is a small sacrifice when your fighting this but damn it we all hope we might look more like sinead oconner or GI jane. I may have to update my picture. Gasp.

MsLedd - I'm afraid I can't help out right now (yay for student debt), though things will hopefully improve by July, but in any case I'm glad your fundraising has gone so well already.
About the $1800 thing - will they actually be turning away people who only manage to raise, say, $1400? Seems crazy if you're trying to raise funds for something as big as breast cancer.
