I'm ready for love, guys.
Yes.

It took that long for Madonna to crop up in here, huh? Personally, I liked Papa Don't Preach much more than Borderline when I was a kid.
Anyhoo, here's my (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_EXxMlIExpo) number one candidate and it's also only like the best music video EVAR!!!!!!11
My second candidate would be the song with the most unironic title known to man: (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbTjzZzfR7w) Drive, by The Cars. I don't listen to it very often not because I'm embarrassed by it, but because it's one hell of a depressing ride. The video doesn't help either.
Also, Demolition Man was squarely in the nineties you freaks.

Not the movie, the song. Although a Schwarzenegger version of the song would be hilarious.

Er... you know the movie is named after the 1981 song off The Police's "Ghost in the Machine" album, right (Sting wrote it, but Jones released it first as a single)? Please say you do or I'll post an entirely irrational rant about stupid kids not knowing anything from before they were born, and cite lots of posts from the Spidey 4 thread. :erg:

Well, don't know enough about music to be ashamed of any, really. But I was thinking about this song just this morning:

Um, would Walk Like an Egyptian be embarrassing?

The Police's "Ghost in the Machine" album,
Apart from the Smurfs, the first album I bought.

So you're in love?
EDIT: I guess I should explain: I was told (at a very young age, when we didn't have the internet to check facts) that "Burning down the house" was a Freudian dream theme, meaning that you'd fallen love. But now that I actually got around to check it, I can find no such reference. Anyhow... I hope you are. :)

My first (and yeah, only) actual exposure to the song was Sting's re-working of it for the movie. It was played on TV for a long time all the goddamn time, so it was kinda hard to miss.
I know this may be heresy, but I never liked The Police all that much, so I didn't listen to them much. Yeah, there's Every Breath You Take and Roxanne and Message in a Bottle and all that, but I couldn't quite get into anything else. So I didn't. I was too busy spacing out to Floyd and Roger Waters and Creedence and Jethro Tull to pay any attention to a bunch of quirky jazz- or reggae- or whatever-influenced rockers with a few pop hits under their belt.
And yes, that last sentence was meant to be ironic. Such be childhood.

I dunno about Freud, but this comes from (
http://www.dreammoods.com/dreamdictionary/f.htm) Dream Moods Dictionary:
"To dream that a house is on fire, indicates that you need to undergo some transformation. If you have recurring dreams of your family house on fire, then it suggests that you are still not ready for the change or that you are fighting against the change. Alternatively, it highlights passion and the love of those around you. "
