I don't think I've ever been ashamed about liking any kind of music, if you want to get technical about it.

Wow ! Someone mentions Ideal.
There was a lot of music in the eighties that I liked. There was even more that I didn't like. I started collecting cassette tapes in 1982. I think I started building my collection of vinyl records in 1985. It might sound weird for people nowadays, but in the eighties some music was basically not available at all ! If an albums was not pressed anymore, and you knew nobody who had a copy, to make a cassette, you just couldn't listen to the music. Sometimes music like that turned into something legendary. Only known through stories, but you never could find it anymore. If you could find a secondhand copy of those albums, you would be happy for a week !
With the Internet, YouTube, iTunes, etc, suddenly a lot of that lost music was found back. I think I hadn't heard this song in 20 years. It was still in the back of my head somewhere. The lyrics were still awesome.

Wow. Who knew I like early eighties German pop? I certainly had no idea. First ever hearing Berlin. Kate Bush can run up a hill into a tree but this stuff is actually good. Okay, some of it is strange and I don't know what the hell they are saying, but strange and confusing in a good way.
