It's the hypocrisy and fickleness that makes me rolleyes.
I dont see how people changing religions is any evidence of hypocrisy or fickleness. Ignorance, maybe...
I took an American Studies class last year- my professor was a graduate student working on her doctoral thesis. She was telling us that she had found a suprisingly large group of women in the Washington DC metropolitan area who converted to hardcore/fundamentalist Islam. The kicker was that these women were, as she described them, 'Cheerleader' types.
Unfortunately as of 9/11, the US Govt came to her asking questions regarding these women, threatening to confiscate her work. She had to destroy all of her ethnographic research (hours and hours and hours of interviews, mostly) to protect it from the govt. :(

When it comes right to it, praying 5 times a day, every day, in the middle of any activity, is downright creepy.

how come? it's got to be more important than going to the can

I'm too apathetic a Christian to care all that much. I am dissapointed by how lame much of Christianity has gotten, but there's plenty of other sects one could choose before going to Islam. I did just recently (alright today) hear about the "Quran Only" (slogan: the Quran, the whole Quran and nothing but the Quran) movement. Kind of like Protestant fundamentalists, except they wind up being way more progressive than most schools of Islam. If only we could turn them all into that there'd be a lot less friction.

I bet if a white guy from New York suddenly converted to Islam, he'd be on the wrong side of a fence in Cuba before he could say OH HOLY SHIT WHAT.
I bet you a bazillion buckazoids the first part already happened without the second following.

Try not doing either and weigh the results.
