Blizzard would make a fortune if they started selling hats for the marines to wear.
Of course, that would destroy what tiny amount of artistic integrity the game still has.
I was looking at the protoss units up-close in the editor the other day, and it's really appalling how bad their textures are. Most of the surfaces are just solid gold blobs, with no detail or anything. At least the terran textures are generally of a high enough quality, with dirt and scratches and such, but the protoss stuff is awful.
And, everywhere protoss and terran alike, the overwhelmingly excessive saturation of the team colour. The game would look so much better if they just desaturated the team colours by 50% or so.

Which, arguably, is terrible for the developer. They only get the money once. If anything, you'd want your staying power as low as possible so when you release a sequel (or triquel) people would switch to that instead of staying with the old one (hello CS vs CS Source).
... unless you start selling hats or charge a monthly fee.
I guess that's why they made the decision to "split" the campaign into 3 different games. I am quite certain they're gonna be full price even though it's been promised they won't be.

This again? The WoL campaign is almost just as long as all three from Starcraft combined. Not to mention it has stuff like upgrades, research, three hours of cutscenes and whatnot.
It might not be quality, but it certainly is quantity.

I agree, but that doesn't change the fact that the other campaigns shouldn't be full price. They are addons for a game after all.

I agree with Koki, the people who talk about it only being 1/3rd of a game make me want to inflict violence upon them. Also agree that the expansions shouldn't be full-price. I'd be okay with, say €25-30 instead of the full €50. I also fear that I'm enough of a fanboi that I'll buy them even if they are €50 each.

Yeah, because if SC didn't have that staying power, Blizzard would still have sold a gazillion copies of SC2.
Oh, wait
So NV, when are the last 2/3rds of that game with the ridiculous price tag of 150 bucks coming out? Whatchamacallit... StarCraft 2? :p

I also don't buy TV show DVDs because I'm only getting 1/8th of the story!

I find it a bit random that Kerrigan would wear her head tendrils in a ponytail.

Can someone CONFIRM/DENY whether you can play online with the Starter Edition or not?
I would never pay money for SC2, but I was always curious just how far could I go on the ladder.
