"3:00 - FMV sequence in a spaceship - looks Terran - zooming in on a metal door - door opening - reveals a guy with a cigar in chains - prisoner - door shuts behind him - there's so much bass the room is shaking - guy steps into some kind of metallic devicce - legs are strapped in - guy rising toward ceiling - Korean text on screen got people very excited - another part of the machine is dropping metal arms on him - machine whirring - applying armor to his torso - extremly detailed visuals here - now guy is strapping on gloves - armor is molding together - seems like a Terran marine - rockets turn on - zerg now onscreen - Marine delivers a line - StarCraft 2 officially announced."

I like how they made this kickass vid even though it will not even be in the original game when it's released. Serious business.
Also, the game looks cartoony. In fact, it looks like Starcraft in 3D and nothing else. Can't see heroes anywhere though, let's hope it stays that way.

Not nearly enough zerg.
Every screenshot should have been of the zerg.
If it had a terran or protoss, it should have been of a zerg killing them.
I want more zerg. now please.

More like spectacularly unimpressive.
Look! It's Starcraft! WITH A SLOWLY ROTATING CAMERA!
You'd think that with a wait this long that they'd do something, I dunno, cool and original with the franchise, maybe? Still be an RTS, but mix it up a bit gameplaywise. Homeworld style control of aerial units, full 3D, not that pussy 3D they did for Warcraft3, but real, "hey! I can move the camera WHEREVER I WANT" 3D a la EVERY GAME RELIC HAS EVER MADE. Instead they decide to continue to tread water with their RTSes. And yet it's guaranteed to sell 200 times what the Homeworlds, Impossible Creatures, Dawn of War and Company of Heroes COMBINED did.

They imight pretty it up a bit before release, but it's doubtful the gameplay will see any significant alterations/improvements.
And I doubt it's as early alpha as you think. You don't wait nearly ten years to announce one of the most anticipated sequels of all time and only have a premature alpha to show for it.

I absolutely LOVED the gameplay + intro trailers. Be sure to checkout (
www.starcraft2.com) for more info + some cool extras. Warning though that you`ll need a really fast (512 or higher connection) for it, as theres ALOT of content.
The main thing I have to say on this is that ITS ABOUT FUCKING TIME!!!! Been waiting for blizzard to make another Starcraft game ever since finishing off Broodwar.

To commemorate the announcement of the highly anticipated StarCraft II, Blizzard Entertainment is proud to present the Tychus Findlay Limited Edition Statue.
Not yet born, yet already has "bright future" I see.

I actually didn't care for their most recent RTS, Warcraft 3, so we'll see.... Looks fine to me, though, and if it stinks, I can always play more Dawn of War.
