Since it'll be a while before I can write about a new game I'm playing, here's the closest thing to it: I finally got started on the Phantom Liberty (which my brain always tries to auto-correct to Phantom Pain), and while part of me turned its nose up at the long and ultra-linear intro sequence, part of me quite enjoyed the spectacle of this on-rails section. I'm curious to see more of Dogtown more freely, though.

I should have clarified. For me, things like picking up items can be annoying.
Trying to get that chunk of bread? Just move next to it.
No, not a step over! Turn around, try again!
Now, just tap forwards quickly. NO! Don't take a full step!
Rinse and repeat a couple of times to line up right. (KB and Mouse controls mind you, I assume a controller will have finer movements)
I could use the mouse to look at the item that I want to grab. Wait, I can't. At least not all the time.
Now
that is janky.

You might like their previous game, (

The Roottrees are Dead. It has a similar approach to piecing together the mystery in hypertext, with a little more friction than Galley House (as in, opportunities to feel stumped with no leads -- a hint system exists but I will always refuse to use it) and perhaps less clever game mechanics, but I also liked its characters a bit more. Either way both games are lovely and I recommend them.
Yup, having this one on my list as well, will get to that eventually. "Type Help", not so much, given how many typos you can make with codes that are that long. "Incident..." saves you a lot of frustration as you input codes with knobs, and you can't really mess up their syntax. That, all the QoL things, and voice acting, it's worth it IMO.

Fallout NV: A Tale of Two Wastelands. I think this is content from the Raiders of the Capital Wasteland mod.

No, not yet. Might do that after I've exhausted the Broken Steel content. Will have to use console commands to reduce my karma.

You will get some factions mad at you.

I got Cocoon on Steam, because I last played it on Game Pass a few years ago, and I loved the thing, one-hit KO boss stages and all.
Revisiting it now, it still hits. Few games really nail that sense of tactility, where things have a real feeling of heft and weight, but not so much that it's grounded and annoyingly sluggish, and not so little that everything feels off and floaty. Cocoon is probably one of the most insect-coded games there is, right down to its environments. There's diaphanous moth wing and air, hard carapace and metal struts jutting out from orange rock. Elements of its design borrow the chitinous and chthonic qualities of things that dwell in and around the soil, and it often melds its stylistic alien flourishes cleverly with earthly aspects, like pathways constructed out of iridescent metal that glint with the exact play of light on a dragonfly wing.
Getting this done right is half the joy for me; the other half is how well-constructed its puzzles are, communicating in a design language that doesn't need words to guide you to where you need to be. It's elegant and beautiful, and while I hate insects as much as the next guy, the game gives me a reason to find things about them wonderful yet.
