Ok, so I've been editing a house in caldera... the Clothier i think. 'cause I killed him an' took the place over. But almost everytime I add or change something, an Item I placed into it, be a cuboard or Spear dissapears! Not everything does this. But I am constantly going into the editor to replace the weapon. (btw-the Items appear in the editor) I would go delete the weapon, then replace it. But then something ELSE disapears.
Namely I had a shield with two spears overlapping each other behind the shield. But one day one of my spears disapeared. I go into the editor, and there it is. Frustrated I replace the thing with a brand new spear. I go back into the game, and lo n' behold... the other spear's gone now!! And some vines an' a silverware bowl. It's been doing this for awhile. Is there something that I'm just doing wrong?
And just incase here's a list of things that dissapeared and what weapon and armor types I have hanging on the wall:
Dissapeared-
1 Silverware Bowl
4 Wood chairs (Same as what Mistress Therana has in her little room)
1 wood table
2 Ebony Spears
1 Chitin Throwing Star
1 Vine
Hangin' on the wall-
1 Ebony Shield
2 Ebony Spears (One has dissapeared)
4 Ebony Axes
2 Chitin Throwing Stars
2 Ebony Swords (Long Blade)
And some Vines
Anyway, any explanation as to why these dissapear would be much appreciated. :erg:

Hmm.. something I've noticed in my own forays into plugins... if you use a plugin and then save, unstable things can happen if you then go and modify that plugin and use that save again. The save's expecting things to be a certain way, but the plugin reinitializes things as it's newer than the save... I had a duplicated door (the Telvanni gold doors) at one point, one copy was open and one was closed.
In other words, if you want to test a plugin, cool; don't save and then change it and expect that save to always behave itself.

The reason why items duplicate is because you install a new patch that changes either the main script, or a script currently in effect, or the new patch changes a cell you've been to already and changed. When bethseda made the first patch, it made it so plugins that edited the same cell could both be in effect. By doing that, the plugins now just added stuff to the world, not overide things like it used to. So, everytime you install a new patch that affects a place you've been before... every place you've visited and changed in your save will duplicate.
I remember having to do the ->disable command everytime I went inside my houes because so much stuff like random pots and platters had duplicated and they were overlapping my displayed stuff. And having 3 doors for one doorway was just annoying.
:P... see, forsythe isnt the only person here who ravages through the editor to find stuff like this...

Kilana, Yeah. What you said. Oh boy! I've a massive headache trying to understand this stuff. Had a house mod plug-in for a res in Caldera. Not too unbalanced w/its adds. Anyway...patched to ver 2 & the ver 2 no-cd patch. Re-loaded & saved *ALL* my plug-ins & BOOM! My Caldera res w/well over 2 Million worth of collected stuffs in it does not load! OH NO! Panic city & re-load the Caldera res mod. It's there - BUT EMPTY! Re-re-load the Caldera res mod & it's there w/all my stuffs but w/doors duplicated & not quite gapped right, if you know what I mean.
Have been unloading all that crap & storing it in the N & S Caldera town entrance towers for the past 5 days now. 2 - 3 more days of this & the Caldera res will be emptied out & I'll completely uninstall that plug-in, maybe grab a different Caldera res plug-in & pray for rain. But I've so many uniques & maybe needed-for-later-quest stuffs stored that I just gotta do this or start over.
It's easy but painful bein' stoopid.
