Hey Kolya! Long time no see. :)
None of the first 3 ideas worked, unfortunately. As for the fourth, I'm not sure what could possibly be helpful in here, but enjoy!

Yeah, that looks all fine. I got no other ideas at the moment.
I suppose it works without VDMSound (albeit the crappy sound)?
TheNightTerror on 27/8/2009 at 01:38
Well, with no digital audio at all, mainly. That's the biggest problem, whenever it tries to play with VDMS it crashes or freezes.
Although, all this may be moot if the laptop is really kicking the bucket.
Kolya on 27/8/2009 at 06:59
I just noticed the error message says "VDMSound 2.0.4". That was the last official release of VDMS. However they later released a beta version: (
http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=2071) VDMSound 2.1.0
It might be that you have that later beta version and they simply hadn't updated the version number internally yet, but it's worth a shot.

I almost certainly wouldn't have the beta version, I won't go anywhere near beta versions unless we're talking about a FM I'm testing. (NV can testify to this!) I did try it, though, and while it did play a little longer, it still froze.
Still, I didn't crash with an error message like I used to, so it's entirely possible that it would be working if my laptop wasn't such a hopeless piece of shit.
