They elected Hamas. They chose hate over things getting better. I feel bad for those standing next to the shooter but if they don't move away I have less sympathy. I'm not sure what you want Israel to do. Take it when they have retreated to their side of the fence and keep getting attacked still? Israel will now invade and many will die while they root out Hamas and those hostages being raped and tortured will likely die anyway. Best to lock down and remove all Hamas now while they can. It's what they will do. It's all they can do.

Imagine someone shooting at your house. Suppose you shoot back and kill three for every one of yours killed. You are a good shot. Now imagine others suggesting you kill too many every time they kill one of yours. What is your response? They don't want to hear the other side shot first. So you build a fence. In 2005 Israel ended all apartheid (others words) of Gaza. It was actually an attempt at stopping the violence coming from the area but lets not quibble. They withdrew all of their settlers and natives there. 10 % of the population. They built a wall. You stay on your side and we stay on ours. Is that good enough? Does it stop the violence?

No. Millions in aid to them and they do not spend it on public works. Hamas buys rockets to shoot at Israel. So Israel builds a fence around them all the way to keep them from importing them. Now they are accused of building an open air prison though one side is the one Egypt built. Egypt too can't stomach their violence. They don't want them in their state either. Still they tear up water pipes to make rockets to build and launch. They get invaded and tunnels for weapons movement crushed. Israel retreats again. Not good enough for Hamas. They scheme.

Then they break through the wall and kill a thousand people. Unarmed people at a music festival. Not good enough. They grenade those hiding in bunkers. Not good enough. They capture and behead people in the street. Not good enough. They murder children in their beds. Not enough. They kidnap women and kids to rape and parade through the streets while those Palestinians who did not participate cheer.

Now cry not for those who were treated thus but cry that those who elected them and celebrate their perversity might get caught in the crossfire. Collective punishment? HOLY FUCK. What they better do is give up the location of these raping killing no heart bastard rapists and beheaders of children out of nothing but hate. All borders closed and blocked and the raping and killing of hostages ended as quickly as possible till they are caught and dealt with. They brought this on themselves. I hope they enjoyed their street party over this atrocity because they will pay in spades as they usually do. Most would learn from getting ten bullets back for one and discover if you don't shoot at them then they won't at you but they do not. It's part of why no country wants them, not Egypt and not Jordan.

Will they learn this time? Not as long as people make excuses for them they won't.
