http://www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Erika_Michelle_Sutelman1.jpgIt's no small wonder that most of the world think of Americans as being a bunch of idiots; it's because the majority are. Sure, look around the landscape and what will you see? A bunch of pimple-faced, cock-eyed billies grazing of what's left of the American Dream like a bunch of dead-headed sheep...trying to text and drive (wouldn't it be easier to just make a phone call?), spending their paycheck-to-paycheck-to-paycheck as fast as possible on fast-food and phonecards and bling and Magic Bullet brand tomato slicers. But this takes the cake:

Now one can go on and on about gun control this and gun control that, but seriously--wait long enough and the lunatics will eventually all take themselves out. Certainly, I like guns, LOVE GUNS!, but I'm not dumb enough (or brilliant enough, depending upon your particular regional values and education) to truly believe that pointing a loaded weapon at my wife and pulling the trigger would be a fun and a-okay pastime just because I assumed the safety was on.
But it's stories like this that both warm my heart and further strengthens my anti-gun-control leanings. Everyone in the country should be, by mandate, given guns and a shitload of bullets because YOU'RE ALL RETARDED, AMERICA! SHOOT YOURSELVES IN THE FUCKING FACE, AND SAVE THE REST OF THE WORLD! HOLY FUCK YOUR OWN SISTER, WOULD YOU ALL QUIT BEING A BUNCH OF STUPID ANIMALS THAT ONLY KNOW HOW TO REPRODUCE?!
Thank you.

The story says she's from South Carolina, not North.
Also you're being pretty judgemental. Are you gonna tell me you've never done some stupid shit that might've gotten yourself or someone else killed?

Oops! I meant South Carolina. Bah! They're all the same. *fixed*
Judgmental? So you're saying that pointing a shotgun at someone and pulling the trigger in a playful manner, because it sounded like a great idea, is just silly things people do--like flash mobs and self-immolation because Justin Bieber got a hangnail--that doesn't deserve any sort of judgement by others? Sure, silly things that people do can be dangerous, if one doesn't have any concept of how things could go horribly wrong. But to that, I'd saying pointing a gun that one fully knows is loaded and pulling the trigger doesn't quite qualify as good-nature silliness.
And when people are blatantly dangerous to others, because they are idiots, they should be judged, mocked, and shunned.
Here's a good example from something I know to be true: when I was a kid living outside of the Flint area, our neighbor's 18 and 19 year-old boys went out in the woods with .22s, wearing camo and snowmobile helmets, to shoot at each other for a fun game. Of course, first shot the 19-year-old hit the younger brother in the femoral, and he bled out before anyone could do anything (not that anyone, in my later opinion, should have done anything--for if they were dumb enough to shoot at each other with .22s, then the world is better off without either one of them...and too bad not both). So, is their ignorance forgivable because people make bad choices? Or were they reprehensibly stupid and deserve nothing but misery and loneliness for being utter idiots and a danger to themselves and others around them? In short, wouldn't the world be better off without them?
And the answer to your question is, for my part, a resounding no. I'm always fully aware of my surroundings, current situations, and those around me, and would never do anything that could possibly hurt one or the other. It's not like the numerous dolts around here where I live that continuously blow through stop signs or drive on the wrong side of the road while cresting a hill because that are way too busy doing something else other than driving.
*edit*
And wouldn't you agree that far too many of today's under 30s are unbelievably brainless?

Nationality doesn't qualify or exempt one from stupidity, although I grant there are various national flavors of stupidity. My reflex is to simply never defend it wherever or however it occurs. But at some point the punchline surely is just moving on to full-on misanthropy and contempt for the human race, once you start down this track...

Yeah, pretty much status quo here. Suicidal stupidity indeed - but not actually much then what I see on my daily commute.
Pretty sure this kind of behavior happens everywhere, all the time, and most of the time the idiots in question are lucky and it doesn't make the evening news.

So you're doing this for the good of society? You're not just parading this girl in front of us so you can rail against South Carolinans/people under 30 and show off what a genius you are because you know it's a bad idea to point a gun at someone? Well ok then.

This is a thread about Southern retards right?

Queue, your threads are great, so glad to have you back buddy.
I love that henke is actually taking you seriously too.

I have a feeling that if we wanted to get down to why Queue finds this sort of shit funny, or even worthwhile enough to bring up, all we'd find is a miserable old man who's sad about life and editors passing him by. So he lashes out on those that are even unluckier in life than he is.
It probably wouldn't help you if I said that you were funnier when you were a happier person, Queue. More playful, more willing to take actual risks instead of beating on the lowest denominator.
But there is this: You gotta have some empathy, some love for the people, some fucking heart, to be able to criticize their stupid wrongdoings in a funny and legitimate way. Otherwise you're just a little pocket of hate. And that is something that the world really would be better off without.
