Constant effect bound... I've never actually tried that. Could be good.
Point for point, feather would be better. Also, there isn't a bound equivalent for every Daedric armor piece.
... And Ebony is traditionally a hardened type of wood, though it's true it's as hard as a rock
How many times do I have to tell you this? Ebony is glass refined by the heat and pressure of mines. It is not wood, nor is it a rock.
actually i am dying for the armor that the fire atronachs wear!!!! but i don't think it is possible to have one
You can't get it. You can only retrieve armor from NPCs. You cannot retrieve armor from creatures (Other than Khajiit and Argonians), undead, or daedra.

... I'm being very calm Exile. Extremely calm. I will not yell. Do not mistake this for patience, because it is not.
Ebony is not a mineral. It is not an ore. It is not refined from any mineral or ore. And most importantly it is not glass.
Glass is made from superheated sands.
And dictionary.com says:
Quote:
1. The wood of such a tree, especially the hard black heartwood of E. ebenum or certain other species, used in cabinetwork and inlaying and for piano keys.
2. The hard dark wood of various other trees.
Don't attempt to argue with me unless you have done research Exile. Don't try and act smart when... how can I put this in a good way... you have been giving wrong information?
And my last piece of proof. The Armorer's Challenge. Read it Exile. It's a book in Morrowind.
... Must I repeat myself? This is not patience. I'm usually calm and fun... but ignorance gets my blood boiling more than anything. Do research. Don't be a smart... aleck.

Why is it that when people see my name, they think "Flamebait?"
Directly from "The Armorer's Challenge:"
It was indeed. Saccus had bought the finest quality ebony weave available in the Imperial City as soon as he heard of the competition and had begun the process of smelting it. Normally it was a six-month procedure refining the ore, but he hoped that a massive convection oven stoked by white flames born of magicka would shorten the operation to three days. Saccus proudly pointed out the other advancements in his armory. The acidic lime pools to sharpen the blade of the dai-katana to an unimaginable degree of sharpness. The Akaviri forge and tongs he would use to fold the ebony back and forth upon itself. Hazadir laughed.
In that same dictionary, do you see a definition of "Argonian" and "Cyrodil?" However, I can see where such a mistake could easily be made. It is true that in common usage, Ebony is referring to wood. Also, a reference to woodworking was in the paragraph before the one I posted. However, as said in another paragraph:
Out of kindness, and more than a bit of pride, Saccus showed Hazadir how, by contrast, things should be done in a real professional armory. The Argonian acted as an apprentice to Saccus, helping him refine the ebony ore, and to pound it and fold it when it cooled. Over the next several days, they worked together to create a beautiful dai-katana with an edge honed sharp enough to trim a mosquito's eyebrows, enchanted with flames along its length by one of the Imperial Battlemages, as well as a suit of armor of bound wood, leather, silver, and ebony to resist the winds of Oblivion.
...it should have been obvious before, but Ebony armor is made from more than just Ebony, just as Imperial Steel armor has the woodwork still visible in many parts, same thing with leather. But the real question here is why you see me as flamebait now. Just because I said that Ebony, in the game, is not wood, you were ready to torch the place down.

Ah sh*t. You caught me with my pants down there. No wonder 'ore' came so easily. I never even use that word. You don't want to... let me take out the part on The Armorer's Challenge and you kinda... not read it?
And anyway. It doesn't say you refine glass into ebony.

It doesn't say you refine glass into ebony.
Bethesda's site does. Codex, then armor types.

Ahem. Folks, see how fun an argument can be when you quote someone?

Yes.

I hereby reserve the right to reference back to this thread should you have an argument with me or ass your way into any sort of argument between myself and another party.
By the way, Ryushi, did dictionary.com have a definition for 0wned?
RyushiBlade on 26/5/2003 at 16:41
Yep.
v. owned, own·ing, owns
v. tr.
1.
a. To have or possess as property: owns a chain of restaurants.
b. To have control over: For a time, enemy planes owned the skies.
2. To admit as being in accordance with fact, truth, or a claim; acknowledge.
But the thing is Exile... I don't care. You can own it if you want. Go ahead. Revel in your victory. I made a mistake. I looked inside a dictionary, which is in fact real, instead of Morrowind.com, and you can't blame me. It was a mistake to reference to The Armorer's Challenge; I only did that because I remember vaguely about 'bending wood' in the book.
Go on. Take your victory Exile. Does it mean that much to you? Because in a world where your opponent doesn't care whether he wins or loses, only a hollow, worthless victory can be attained.
And it's funny how some things can go right over a persons head, eh?
Exile on 26/5/2003 at 18:09
That's "0wned..." With a "0."
