in the dwarven ruins, in the land's blood gallery or deep ore passage? I got the dwarven key, but I didnt find anything of real value.

Did you levitate and look everywhere? If you're lucky there will be some decent dwemer armor/weapons scattered around on high ledges.

how do you levitate? btw, is morrowind.com down? I keep trying to access it, but it keeps on showing as an error.

Levitate : Drink a potion/cast a spell/use an item, look in the direction you want to go and move forward.
Security : Picking locks and disarming traps is the way to go if you don't want to pay for it.
