Is there any way to play missions in Olddark despite having Newdark installed? - by Galaer

The Tfix installation with OD is not really the original experience but a garbled mess of "fixed" levels that then occur in OD.
Just make a copy of your Thief folder, one with Tfix, the other not, and a backup of the OD folder. If you have the feeling that Darkloader messed too much around with it, then just use the backup or restore it via Steam.

well, you are always free to pop the cds into your retro machine, if you want the full 1999 experience..

Just like voodoo47 said, when installing TFix choose custom install and select legacy executables. Then check your Thief 1 folder for DDFixed exe and original exe.
sadly doing this breaks the mission loading when the prior mission savegames used newdark.
I'll just skip the loot.

yes, oldDark can't load NewDark saves, that's why they are stored separately. ND however should be able to load oldDark saves, so if you start an oldDark playthrough, and decide to switch to ND later, you can move your saves from the oldsv folder to the saves folder and they will probably work ok.
