Is there any way to convert all the Thief 1 and gold fan missions to Thief 2? - by meyou123

No mission should REQUIRE an engine exploit to complete it. If it does, I don't want to play it.

What if jumping a chasm depended on it, the author just made it like that because it was possible with T1. I'm not 100% certain, but I think I remember a couple of instances of that in T1 FM's

You can't bunny hop in T2, and I'm sure that will cause problems if you convert a mission that relies on it, e.g. jumping over a chasm
Are you sure? (About bunny hopping)

Yup. No bunnies in T2.
Sounds like the argument I occasionally have with musicians who think playing a digital piano is blasphemy. Acoustic or Die. Even if the thing is an old, out-of-tune honky-tonk, they'll crank out miserable renditions of Chopin or Bach. Purist nonsense.

for all practical purposes, running T1/TG (and any T1/TG FMs) under NewDark will get you all the benefits of the T2 engine (because NewDark is an updated version of the T2 engine, that doesn't change even when it's running in the T1 mode), so yes, converting the maps makes no sense nowadays.

You can still bunny hop in T2 but the cummulitive effect was fixed/removed. I agree that engine exploits should not be used to complete a mission, and it isn't in Garrett's character to go bunny hopping around. That would makes as much sense as City Watch skipping like little girls while chasing Garrett. :p

Now that would be entertaining :D

Compare T1 and T2 by jumping forward once (this is besides the cumulative effect). The difference is huge. In T1 you jump some 6-7 feet forward, in T2 it's about 2 feet. They effectively killed bunny-hopping in T2
I'm playing Nigel's Hidden Treasure (T1) at the moment, and it could never be converted to T2. The huge chasms and gaps were made with T1's jumping mechanics in mind, they'd be impossible to jump across in T2

If I using T1 with the newest Tfix, the bunny-hopping is possible. Maybe you have something to do in the config file.

I just played a T2 FM "A Visit To The Baron" where bunny hopping is possible. So.... it's possible after all.
