For a while there Morrowind was pissing me off, but I've straightened it out and it's fun again (hooray!). Anyways, fun or not, it's still a long walk to a lot of these places, and the Morrowind Epic Theme Song gets kinda old. So is there anyway I can play my own music in it? I wouldn't mind kickin' it to some Steely Dan as I quest along...

heres what you do
1. turn off music in Morrowind
2. Plug in stereo
3. Insert CD of choice
4. Press play

Take a look in your Data Files folder. See that folder called Music? Inside that folder are two subfolders; battle and explore. Either delete or backup the files in there and put your mp3s of choice into them; the folder name should be easy enough to tell when which music plays.

There isn't any need to replace the existing MP3 files. Morrowind will play a random file from that directory, so all you have to do is add your own files and off you go! :)

There's even a plugin that allow you to listen to different MP3's with an in-game interface via a virtual Discman. I think it's called MP3 Discman, or something.

I recently hooked up my walkman to my computer speakers. Sure, I lose my surround sound, but I don't need to use my computer to play music anymore.

It was kinda fun to have some death-metal kick in when a rat shows up, then subside into diana krall afterwards... but it got kinda old. I think I'll just stick with the original music for now.
