Yes, we know. That's what we've been talking about the entire thread.
those aren't the only low-res animated textures in the game, you know. :tsktsk:

The problem with the small textures is that they require more creative work to up-res. A 32x32 texture can leave a lot to the imagination. A 256x256 one can not.
Yeah, I thought of that afterward, and, uh, yeah, I just didn't say anything. This is exciting stuff! Be sure and let me know where you would like me to take some sample screens (some place in the game where this texture really shows off its new res).

Due to the various problems with gamesys conflicts and unavailability of unstripped missions, we might need up to three versions of each upgraded texture--
1. High resolution, high animation rate <-- modified gamesys and map
2. High resolution, original animation rate <-- modified map only
3. Original resolution, high animation rate <-- modified gamesys only

why can't you just make a high res series of textures then scale them down to the original animation size then save as a gif?
you would have a higher res animation just at the same size? wouldn't that not work? just keep the time between frames the same.

Get out.

This would work just fine. Packages two and three are simply the individual pieces of the original package. How can we go about adding animation frames to current textures? (Do you mean, just create new frames that fit in with the originals?)

RootbeerTapper: If you scale it down you lose resolution. And it's not an animated gif but the engine has it's own texture animation function.

Draw them?

Did you miss my question in parentheses? I want to know if you were planning to simply add frames, or produce a completely new texture that is true to the original and with more frames of animation...?
It would turn out to be a nice, small download, having only the new textures and the new gamesys. I'd still rather have all high-res textures though...
