Basically, the topic says it. I've been reading all of the vampire discussions. I''ve seen the pros and the cons, and I'm wondering if there's any benefit to becoming a vamp that stays with you after you are cured? I am about to go into a vampire lair for a Temple quest and was wondering whether I should bother to cure myself right away if I get infected.
Is it worth it to be a vamp for a while?
Will I be able to pick up where I left off after the cure?
Will my faction with everybody go down and stay down or will it improve after I get cured?
Just curious.

I'm pretty sure all bonuses disappear when you're cured.
Provided you don't go into any cities and kill people who are either members of or vital to quests of factions you care about (either because you're now a member or because you might want to join 'em eventually), you should be able to pick up where you left off once you're cured. What that means, basically, is you take a chance of screwing up your game every time you go into town as a vamp.
Provided you don't piss in anyone's Wheaties (ie: don't kill or annoy anyone), their opinions of you shouldn't go down (and you can always raise 'em by Persuade'ing them). If you must go into town for supplies, I'd suggest staying strictly within Telvanni areas and only speaking with Telvanni members; they're more tolerant of vampires.
Of course, some Vamp quests require you to go into town... good luck ;)

Thanks Forsythe. :D That's exactly the kind of information I was looking for. If the worst happens and I get infected, I'll see what happens. Of course, I'd be seeking it if I got to keep any of the advantages.
Thanks again.

i wouldnt be worried about getting bitten, i have taken off ALL my armor and let 5 vampires attack me until i have low health, i go rest, and do it all over again for the hopes of becoming bitten. FOR 2 HOURS IVE TRIED THIS!!! ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS! and i bought a spell of weakness to common disease, but its not self, and im an orc so i barely ever cast it, not like it matters. i doubt ull get bitten. Of course, the thing that pisses me off is that its on xbox, and my friend got bitten in one shot!!!! and he didnt even want it!!!!

i tried to do the same thing with corprus disease to see if fyr would give me the potion before caius(sp?) gave me the mission to cure it. but apparently the game only lets you catch certain diseases (corprus and vampirism) at certain points in the game.

I don't think vampirism contraction has any relation to what stage you are in the game BUT i do think some vampires are far more likely to give you the disease than others...
