Well, apparently:
"Sudoku addicts halt drugs trial"

I just found it kinda funny the fact that jurors were concentrating on the puzzle rather than the trial.
btw, the above site is filled with other odd news, you might want to check 'em out as well for some amusement.

After a while, I'm finding it harder and harder to be surprised by these things. It seems something stupids always happening...

I'm on the juror's side, actually. During conventions or lectures or the like I tend to fold origami while I listen. It really does help me pay attention.

This is weird. How many trials would get cancelled if the jury paying attention was a necessary part? Hook them all up to an EEG fer crissakes. "You honour the defense would like to move for a retrial. The jury's average beta waves have been decidedly sub par."

Maybe not that addictive, but then some trials are boring as hell. :ebil:

..........but seriously, the game can be very addicting. I started on one of those books once, looked up and realized I had solved 20 sudoku's in a row. Granted it was during a 2 hour car ride but still....
Maybe its some form of Japanese hypnosis designed to get back at America.

Hasn't Sudoku been invented by some guy in New York? That's the story I heard.

Your right Mingan. It seems the Japanese made it popular. Otherwise it would have fallen into obscurity. Learn something new everyday. :)
