Just because it may seem like an error to you, doesn't mean it's an error to me. Let everyone decide for themselves.

It's all relative, right? ;)

I always find it funny how people act about things like this. OMG IS EINSTIEN WRONG!!1!? It wouldn't surprise me if he wasn't correct about everything; the point is that his discoveries are a stepping stone for later generations to use to advance knowledge in general. People seem to somehow want there to be an infallible person that is always right but that's never going to happen. Pretty much all the scientists all the way back have been wrong about a lot of shit, but its not whether or not their right that matters, its how they try to find out what is right that matters.

I don't know what this guy is talking about, but it seems to me that a mistake worth mentioning in a theory as complex as special relativity would simply cause it to produce inaccurate results. From what we know, this isn't the case.
But maybe I'm wrong.

If I discovered a fundamental flaw in one of the theories that establishes the very bedrock of modern physics I'd, y'know, make a website instead of working to get published in peer-reviewed journals. Who needs a nobel prize.

Godel, Incompletness. What are you gonna do eh

Einstein was educated stupid anyway.
DarkViper on 19/2/2006 at 20:37
A theory is not necessarily fact, it's just a highly educated opinion that has been tested [to a degree] and is widely accepted as fact. It couldn't be proved wrong [limited knowledge at the time perhaps] so it was deemed to be right until someone more intelligent could find the flaw.

Theories - explanations for natural or cultural phenomena, supported by a reliable body of data... No scientific theory, no matter how widely accepted by the international community of scholars, is beyond challenge.

i proved newton wrong the other day.
turns out if you sit under a tree thinking about shnizzle; and an orange falls on your head then you dont get a flash of inspiration.
therefore fruit does not equal fame and fortune.
like newton says.
thus proof.
