I seem to be getting this weird flickering that's been getting worse over the last half hour. It started off with some light flickering, simple lines over the screen, then they'd go away. It's been getting worse, the lines are thicker, the screen jitters a bit. I'm hoping it's the monitor. My 8800GT has been working fine, and this monitor's quite old as my last one went bust. I've been trying to find a CRT but they're impossible to find nowadays.

Do you have a spare gfx, so you can rule out the 8800..? and ebay is a good place to get a CRT, where r u located..?

I have an old 6200TC but I really don't want to have to open this thing up and put that in- it's a bit of an operation as I have to physically carry the PC into the kitchen 'cuz there's no room to work on it here.
I got the same behaviour during a game. If the card were malfunctioning the game itself would be acting funny, wouldn't it? And it was working fine last night as I slaughtered Blue team bastards left and right.
My money's on the monitor, considering its age and the fact that my card has been well-taken care of.
Unfortunately nobody sells CRTs anymore. :( I'll see if my uncle has a few.

That sure sounds like the monitor (had an old CRT doing the exact same thing before it went belly up).

Cincinnati, OH, USA unfortunately. So I can't exactly go get those monitors.
After leaving it off for a while as I went out to dinner and then watched some TV, it seems to have stopped doing it.
We're probably going to end up buying an LCD and I'll use that as a standin until I find some more CRTs, 'cuz I'm all out of CRTs here. At one point I had like 6 or 7 of them just laying around.

There's a place about 5 minutes from here, I might see what they have. Never been in there but it's worth a try.
