I certainly think so. This game is inspiring in me the type of reverence and epic scale that only Tolkein has managed before. Beautiful, unique, innovative and any other praise I can sing it. A jewel that is rare to see these days.

there is just one thing lacking from morrowind. Multiplayer. It would be cooler if somehow that was implemented
ACT SMILEY on 3/6/2002 at 21:09
nah. it doesn't need multiplayer. Its too good to spoil with powergaming tossers.
Tuco on 3/6/2002 at 21:41
Definately not.
a. This game is not epic.
b. This game is not challenging.
c. This game is not immersive...
I beat the game in 2 weeks... that's not an epic scale game... if perhaps the dungeons were larger, or the largest quest wasn't, "Run around and make people like you."(Nereverine/Horator), then it might have been epic, but it certainly didn't provide that.
The game is one of the easiest I've played... It took no skill or strategy to beat the latter half of the game. Balance fault as per lack of refinement etc...
The majority of the quests are bland, very few quests required any thought process, like many games out, it became a big loop before it got immersive.
This game was made to provide the 'ultimate' role playing sustanence. It didn't come close.

I disagree with Tuco. I never felt that Morrowind was supposed to be the "ultimate" role-playing game. I simply feel that it was meant to provide a "genuine" role-playing experience. The idea is to put as few limits on the player's choices as possible. And I think they've achieved that better than any game before. No, it doesn't have the depth of many other, more focused role-playing games. No, it is certainly not the most challenging game around. Yes, you can finish the main plot in a relatively short amount of time if you focus all your effort on it. Do these things mean it failed? I don't believe so.
Tuco on 3/6/2002 at 22:18
I suppose it did give the user quite a number amount of options, ultimately one path, however.
zily on 3/6/2002 at 23:18
well, something else that's kind of annoying.
"I don't like you enough to talk about that"
Bribe 100 gold
"I don't like you enough to talk about that"
Bribe 100 gold
"He is so-and-so that works at wherever"
I think I have bribed all the ordinators at vivec, so now none of them make that funny 'hmmmmm--hmmmm-hmmm" noise at me.
Tuco on 3/6/2002 at 23:33
No, that's if you want to 'roleplay' the intelligent swindler...
Some roleplay =D
Any roleplaying I'll ever do is going to be in real life without the other people knowing it... lieing, roleplaying, whatever...
"Yeah baby, I'm a CIA agent dewd..."

Definitely.
a. This game IS epic.
b. This game IS challenging.
c. This game IS immersive...
It's also:
a. The best presentation of a fantasy world yet seen in computer games.
b. Detailed beyond the dreams of....anyone but LGS. ;)
c. Mod heaven.
d. The only fantasy game that allows players to make unique spells, potions, scrolls,
magic items, enchanted weapons and armor the way they want to. ("gem slots,"
and the like, are kind of lame in this regard)
e. Full of surprises.
f. An extremely good value for the money. You'll be playing add-ons and expansions,
and really good ones, pro and amateur, for years.
g. Not without a few flaws. But it is a stunning achievement in its sheer size and
variety (and that it doesn't look "cut'n'paste" even though it is.), unless you take all
of this for granted.
I beat the game in 2 weeks...
I knew a guy who played Final Fantasy VII in like two days or so. He wasn't having
fun. What a horrid way to game. :( Maybe you should get something else? GTA3
perhaps? ;)

I am in complete agreement with aardvark.....even though I can't remember how to spell his name....
