I only heard about this recently, been pining for something as good as Macross Plus since... well, since Macross Plus. Macross Zero was pretty but ultimately a bit bland (Macross 7 was waaaay too fruity for me), this looks pretty awesome in a silpheed sort of way. I head Yoko Kano is also on the soundtrack, which is promising. Anyone seen it/got opinions?
PS if anyone doesn't know, its about pop music and transforming jet planes. But in a good way.

I wasn't too impressed with what I've seen of it, but then again I may not be the best person to ask since I thought Macross in general had too little explosions and too much Minmae.

I loved Cowboy Bebop to death, so when I heard Macross Plus was done by largely the same crew I picked it up.
I had to ditch it after half an hour - it was awful. False melodrama combined with an abundance of explosions and obligatory swearing.

Swearing? What swearing? Do you mean the movie or the series? The movie's only OK, the series is incredible.
