The MW expansions - are they as buggy as MW? Or were the game engine problems addressed & corrected in the expansions?
Got so flusterated w/MW that I never did finish. Wouldn't mind checking out the expansions if the experience is significantly less painful.

Not as buggy, though there are a few bugs but most of them only a modder would pick up. If you haven't already, make sure you get the patch.

Always get a patch for a PC game. Morrowind is not an exception to this long-standing rule.

Actually, I think it is. Does the patch not alter the way in which one gains levels? (rhetorical question)

...so it is a good idea to patch it, yes? (I don't actually know what the patches do, since I installed them all before I started...)

I can think of 3 things the patches did off the top of my head, they made it so that you can't kill Jiub at the beginning, they made it so that you can't mug people, and they added that bar that tells your enemy's health.

How were you able to kill Jiub? Just wondering... I never heard of that before.
The enemy health bar was a welcome addition, though I wish they hadn't made it impossible to mug people. I spent a full hour disintegrating Fyr's daedric armor, knocked him out, ... then discovered I couldn't take it! Took me a good half hour to buy a high level Calm Humanoid spell and then pick pocket the broken armor off him.

Without the patch, you could activate your fists and punch him. :)
