Is it possible to run Theif on a Mac OS using this:

Me and me mate were wanting to play thief multiplayer only he has a mac. Is it worth trying? Any past experience or tips would be helpful.

Well, I had used Crossover which could run Thief fine, but the multiplayer never worked.
Judging by the games Wine can actually run on the mac (Half-Life 2, Guild Wars, Left4Dead, Fallout 3, Bioshock, Call of Duty 4) then it should be able to run Thief pretty easily. All you can do from then on is install Thief with it and simply just test, and read the site for little bits of info about Wine.

Thanks, I think we'll definitely give it a go.

This makes little sense. Because it can run newer games, it should run older games too? That's not the case on XP. As far as I remember. Thief via wine ran terribly in any resolution higher than 640x480 and cutscenes wouldn't play. (I think I last tried this in 2003 or 2004)

Wine has improved greatly since 2003-2004.
