Is it possible to listen to Lick It Up really loudly and not dance like Paul Stanley? - by Gingerbread Man

My friends, I have just returned from a v. important Study into this very question. At the very most, subjects were occasionally able to last three minutes, but the whooooooaaaaaaaaa WOO! that starts around 2:56 always got 'em.
Dammit, what happened to bands like KISS? I think we traded KISS for Motley Crue and Lee Aaron, with two later-named prospects (who disappointingly turned out to be Slipknot and Marylin Manson).
I think we need to fire the GM. >:(

The difference is that KISS was a fun, good time, party band whereas Marilyn (or is is Marylin?) Manson's music sounds like he looks: weird, dreary, slightly menacing. KISS is fun time party music full of happiness and girls and the occasional heartfelt ballad. Marilyn Manson doesn't write songs about rocking and rolling all night and partying every day, he writes songs about crying and being weird and spiders. :(

I actually like quite a bit of his stuff, but I've always been of the impression Gothy McSpookypants could stand to take things a little less seriously.
The band photo comparison in Thief13x posted illustrates this perfectly.
Also: another band that could be good again if they started partying and stopped dwelling on THE PAIN is Korn.

QFT
The first album is still very listenable. I find that most bands that get rubbish (or even start of rubbish) will still have some quality stuff. Taking oneself to seriously tends to be bad for all forms of creative output and is why I'll be watching Ed Norton as the Hulk only on DVD. Borrowed DVD.
Having said all that I still think Manson takes himself less seriously than Korn. No wonder they were all bullied.

I don't think anybody else can physically dance the same way as Paul Stanley.

Paul Stanley wanted to name the fans that liked him "The Kiss Navy"
Go figure.
