Okay some will say yes some will say no but here is my take:
If you know how to cheat it can inhance the game tons. For me its all about being able to cheat but not spoling the game. You have a 60000 grand soul gem right.. but theres NO way you can sell it without doing WAYY to much work. So what do u/i do? Cheat to get the 60000 and throw the gem out.
There are other things like for me i found that by doing the cheat and adding the amulet of intervention to my char i was able to avoid spending those mind numbing hours walking all over the place.
Have i cheated? Yes.
Do i regret it? No
Why? because i think i will be able to get more out of the game than most.
(my friend who hasnt cheated hasnt touched the game in a week and is lvl 3.. me you ask? well im lvl 17 and Loving every minute of it.)
Please state your oppions.. and remember there is no right or wrong.

I get the feeling that Morrowind has feelings. every time I go on a killing spree in the middle of a town or find some way to scam the shopkeepers, the game either locks up, kicks me out to the desktop or just stops taking input from the mouse clicker..

I'm getting major emotional backlash from killing everyone in Vivec.

its up to the person but as soon as u cheat the game becomes too easy to quick, selling expensive items to zed or a guar trader means u can power lvl in minutes the game becomes a bit lame from there on. Morrowind is a little easy as it is in 1.2, cheating breaks any challange the game can give u so it loses its reason for being, as it isnt competative u gotta have a challange but if its a cheat/plugin to bring a challanging ballance to the game im up for it otherwise it aint no good for me
theres a plugin out there to make the game a right bitch i gotta find it again, it cuts down on expensive weopon drops and uber'fies everything
i think i need some ai plugins aswell
like my latest char rolf the uber, nord likes big axes and lots constant effect str gear his too uber for everything and thats with the difficulty maxed from the start
and can someone give me some links to some good sites about constructing plugins i wanna nurture some challenging ones for myself and maybe all of u

Depends really...
I think there's nothing wrong with using the console to 'fix' things which have gone wrong because of a game bug or something. I also think it's ok to cheat if you encounter something which is an obvious over sight like if you need a specific unique item for two different factions - you hand it in to one but later you find out you need it for another.
I think exploiting games bugs though is 'pure cheating' like some instances where you can keep asking for a reward and rack up thousands of gold coins - you might as well just type in the gold command and have done with it. I also think creating/downloading a plugin which creates some sort of 'uber-merchant' with 100K is cheating.
It seems to me that most of the time the people who admit to cheating to gain money and items are players who are starting their second character and are bored of how long it takes to 'get going'. I'm unsure whether I can blame these people but having said that I don't think they should go about boasting how they got a daedric claymore etc at level 1 (and reveal later it was through cheating).
At the end of the day if 'cheating' keeps you playing then cheat but you shouldn't be surprised if when admitting this on a board other people who have done it the 'proper' way look down on your achievements...
I have to make a special mention though concerning daedric armour - i think it's such a joke that you can't get a full suit without attacking a vital character - i personally class this as a bug (even if bethesda doesn't). I think people are within their rights to console in daedric pauldrons once they have all the other parts.

It's pretty easy to cheat in Morrowind.
The console, the editor. These things allow you to customize the game to your liking, or break it completely. In the end, it's all up to you. You should be playing the game the way YOU want to. If you're not having fun, something is wrong.
So by all means, do what you need to so that you can get the best experience out of it.

Training is evil too.
