There was a black Iron Man for a while. Stark relapsed into alcoholism after losing Stark Industries to Obadiah Stane and he was ultimately forced to step down as Iron Man to recuperate and get his shit together. So Jim Rhodes (Stark's personal pilot etc etc) stepped up to maintain the Iron Man presence. Of course, the suit being calibrated for Stark meant that Rhodes became increasingly irrational and paranoid etc lalalala
I think that's how it went. I haven't read comic books in years :(
Um.
So yeah. There was a black Iron Man for a while.
Wasn't he called, y'know
War Machine? It was at least in the cartoon show....I'm just sayin...

Firefox crashes every time I try to play the trailer. Um, ok.
But yeah, I normally find superhero movies pretty awful (I saw spider-man for the first time the night before last and laughed my ass off at how bad it was) but if this stars Jeff Bridges I might give it a shot.
Edit: Got the trailer to play. To my great suprise, it actually made the movie look interesting. If the trailer is representative of the film (which it probably isn't) then the film has a sense of humor/irony - this is good. Superhero movies are most unbearable when they take themselves too seriously. Also, I like the idea that he's a total asshole.

Only after Stark took back the Iron Man identity, IIRC.

Ditto and ditto. I saw Spiderman 2 again this weekend and for the life of me, the only redeeming quality of the entire series is Alfred Molina devouring the scenery in his role as Dr. Octavius. And even he looks a little pained at some of the dialogue. The CGI is crap on par with The Phantom Menace and The Hulk, and am I the only one that wants to see Toby McGuire get run over by a cement truck? I just don't get it. Kristen Dunst is a skank (WASH YOUR HAIR) and William DeFoe (BWUUUAHAHAHHAAHAAA I AM A BAD GUY BECAUSE I HAVE AN EVIL GROWL!!!#221@!!@#12j) is an ass. I fucking hate the Spiderman movies.

Spidey falls a bit flat in those movies as Tobey can't really pull off/isn't given the wisecracks that are so vital for the character. The lack of the Shocker is also a travesty, but other than that they were pretty good.

Spiderman 3 kinda killed it I think, from a theatrical point of view. Sure it was a big box office hit but where could they go with Spiderman in the theater now? They've pretty much ran out of characters and villans and not to mention they've deviated from the storyline way too much for a Marvel fan's liking. That being said I didn't think it was a bad movie but they could have done a whole lot more with it. I'm guessing either stuff didn't flow as well as they wanted it too - the storyline and scripting muffed up as it were - and they might have gone over budget and couldn't extend the film or split it into two films like the actual story was.

Some of the stuff in the trailer looks pretty interesting, especially the Stark character himself. I'll pay my handful of euros to see the movie.
All the three Spiderman movies have been horrible. I loathe the choice of Tobey Maguire to play the leading role, his interpretation of the character is complete shit, though of course the fault isn't his alone. The villains are cool and have a lot of potential, but at the pace they are thrown into the story and out from it again, it's never used. Fuck the whole merchandise. (I simply downloaded the first sequel and only saw the third part because my friend warez'd it and made me sit through it)

Jeff Bridges looks pretty badass! I'm interested now.

I think it's more like Sam Raimemieii (or however the fuck you spell it) is a one trick pony, and I'm off to watch Army of Darkness.

Raimemieii
Can I call a moratorium on intentionally misspelling someone's name in the most ridiculous way possible just because you don't think much of them? It's impossibly juvenile and really fucking bugs me.
