Iron Man was ok. I didn't hate it, but I felt it was missing something
The only thing Iron Man was missing was the continuation of the drunk scene on his jet enroute to Afghanistan or him and Pepper gettin' it on, but that would've been a different movie... the movie I saw 99% awesome.
To be honest, I'm going to have to watch this again a few times but it could easily be a pretender to the Batman Begins throne... but I'll reserve judgement til I've seen it at least twice on DVD.

Yeah, Batman has discreet identifiable mess-ups (most of which Stitch railed on previously). That's why I said Iron Man was missing something - nothing it actually does is bad. Though some of the jokes were lame.

Actually, the unresolved sexual tension between Stark and Pepper is one of
Iron Man's strengths.

I don't think he was being serious.

Thank you for the clarification.

Whoa.

That you're so bereft of judgement you can't discern humour from serious content?
And how well do you think I know you (or Stitch, for that matter), really? I was wondering what personal reason for Stitch's intense dislike for Transformers was, and it seemed to me that you were actually trying to imply, albeit facetiously, that he was a loyal fan who happened to be disappointed. I fail to see where lack of judgment on my part is supposed to come into play here. Last I checked, I'm not a mind-reader.

failed on every level.
Really? I think it's safe to say that it succeeded on the economic level. Nonetheless, that's besides the point. I was curious as to why you've felt it necessary to hold a grudge against it, because I've seen you bring it up in a couple of separate discussions already. I don't care at this point, though. Apparently it's not because you're a disappointed fan.
(edit) Don't mistake any of what I said here as an attempt to defend Transformers. I can't sit through the whole thing, either. I simply acknowledge that there must be something they did right, whether I can see it or not, to make it appealing to so many people. Also, even if everyone here agreed on something, that would amount to an extreme minority opinion in the real world.

It's Transformers. The original cartoon was massively popular and tbh the idea behind it is a prize for any summer blockbuster creator. It was about as bad as it could have been, yet even if it had been worse it still would have made money.
It certainly did one thing very well - catering to the lowest common denominator. But then look at the director.

I can read your mind.
Yes, my penis is the biggest you've
ever seen.

The problem is your insistence on reading into things and constructing backstories that simply don't exist.
What "personal reasons" do I need to recognize that a crap movie was crap? Why must holding a film up as an example of cinematic vacuity be the result of some personal grudge?

Iron Man. Fuck yes.
