DX is become more and more relevant to the real world almost as fast as this forum is becoming less and less relevant. =/
J/K. That's a pretty interesting article. That guy's eyes look wicked blacked out like that, and I'm very curious what it'd look like. I'm all for self-augmentation.
Personally speaking, the holy grail down this line IMO will be when augmented-reality (AR) technology gets placed in the eyeball, so you don't have to wear a silly pair of glasses anymore, and you get a nice HUD set-up just opening your eyes, where you can do all sorts of things. Basically it becomes a mobile computing device that's always with you wherever you are. The fact that it could add night vision like this would be a nice perk.
What DX taught me is to expect people chatting constantly to each other in their eyeball HUDs, like they already do with smart phones, but it takes away the middle guy.
