Republicans are no more inclined to use military force than democrats. A good example was Clinton backing the autocrats in Brussels and sending shitte wads worth of men and material to Bosnia - where US forces flying under UN colors bombed out every bridge along the Danube save one, strafed farms and villages and left close to 2 tons worth of depleted uranium dispersed across the country.
Brussels backed the KLA and what did we get? KLA muslims pillaging and plundering Bosnian villages, burning out churches and opening a drug trafficking pipeline that runs from the opium fields in Afghanistan to the chem labs in Netherlands. No matter what the EU says, the Serb people didn't deserve to be dispossessed of their homes, personel property and murdered. All under the watchful eye of UN peacekeepers. Thanks Kofi.
And to think I thought you guys had forgotten about playing an April Fool this year :D
Because nobody could
seriously have such a warped and retarded view of our intervention in Bosnia, right?

I'm betting that Iran has it coming now.
Playing the asshole is not good for your health.
I would guess they're getting bombed soon.

The war against Iran began years ago, there has been for a long period of time a constant collection of information, and like with Iraq it has nothing to do with nukes, it's more about finding a way to do it for other purposes (Hint: PNAC/AEI agenda*)
A couple of points:
-The mad Iranian president is not very powerful, so his words are almost insignicant
-Iran didn't start a war against USA in 1979 "revolution", which was direct a blowback because of 1953 USA/British Operation Ajax coup. More than 50 years later a similar plan is in works. Of course learned absolutely nothing from history.

Now it is the answer to terrorism. The emphasis is on preemption, and the reviews are generally enthusiastic. Through all of this, the dominance motif remains, though largely undetected.”

Because they arrested foreign sailors in waters which they claim as their own ?

No, just because they're being an asshole. Let them go and stop the radio drama or face the end of your trivial existence.

Whether or not the boats were in Iranian waters, Iran is still acting like some sort of petty adolescent about the whole thing: "nyah, we won't give them back because you're being nasty to us!!!!"
And regardless of who or what the UK or US has taken captive for spurious reasons and in breach of this or that international convention, at least they don't parade them on TV.
Just because one side has done questionable things, the other feels justified in doing the same or worse. Such an escalation is not productive. And yet clearly, at some level of the Iranian leadership, such a course appears the most rational. I won't begin to attempt to fathom why this is; studying the Third Reich has equipped me with an appreciation of just how chaotic an apparently organised regime can be, even when you have hindsight and all the facts (more, at least, than we have on Iran). To attempt to unravel the motives behind Iran's behaviour would be too speculative to be useful, and I will admit to being not in the least familiar with the Iranian systems of government or military.
So where does that leave us? I won't try and predict what will happen next, but I will guess that Iran will probably hand the troops back before things start getting tangibly serious. However, this might not happen for a long time.
