Apparently, they insisted on the lame gay joke over having the bottle say "obey", as a reference to the 80s action movie They Live. Now that makes me a little bit angry.

Ok with that in context, I'd prefer Obey. It fits perfectly with the past movie call backs.

Yeah, it's all enough to make me wish I hadn't already bought it. Oh yay, my money supported some homophobic jerks.
Even if you agree with the silly backwards censorship argument, they're not exactly exhibiting principled action on any of it. Like I said earlier, there's no sincerity or ethical consideration here, no matter what you think is ethical; it's just flaky, incompetent PR spinning.
Renz, the mods for Wrath might turn out to be more than half that game's experience after a couple of years, so you might consider having it on both PC and Switch. It's a Quake engine game made largely by members of the Quake modding community, and that community is crazy prolific and creative.

Chances are better than good I'll end up getting it on the PC first and foremost, despite my Switch love. For one thing, FPSes just play better on the PC. For another, it comes out, what, next month on Steam/GOG, while the console release is slated Q1 2020.

For me I don't really care about the homophobic stuff, as someone is going to get offended no matter what you do or don't, but the "OGay" stuff from a build engine standpoint would make far more sense if it was "Obey" because of the in-jokes to past 80s-90s movies. Duke3D and Blood had a plethora of references to old stuff in there. So to me it makes far more sense with Obey.
