I will also plug Secret Six here - one of DC's better series at the moment, based around six sorta-former villains who decide to be mercenaries instead.
Also also the last series of Blue Beetle was pretty awesome given that it was based on a legacy character to a much-loved, dead predecessor. Four trades, all excellent with the odd dip (usually on a tie-in issue, naturally).*
Also also also Marvel's Incredible Hercules has been massively good fun since it was spun out of Incredible Hulk a couple of years ago. I mean, Scots' profile picture says it all.
Edit: * Could be five trades actually, not sure about that. The first four are still aces.

Secret Six? Wasn't that when the Secret Seven lost their dog?

No, it was when the Famous Five temporarily recruited Anne of Green Gables.

Ah, yes. Forgot about that. I thought you were actually referring to the Five Find-Outers and the Dog at first. Man, Blyton was one confusing writer.
I agree with your recommendation though. Need to steal all those books back from my niece.

Can anyone recommend me something more graphic novel rather than a comic? Am I wrong when I think that most of these comics mentioned are only a few pages thick, read a copy of the Green Lanterns it's well drawn but over in a heartbeat, don't think this genre is really for me. I want something more meaty, like Maus or Gorazde, I have never been really into fantasy, I guess Watchmen was an exception but I really liked the movie (never heard of the comic it's just not there here)

Oh man, too bad you saw the movie first - regardless of any other strengths and weaknesses it has, it screws up the murder-mystery portion pretty badly, which will likely lower your enjoyment of the book (if only slightly).
Weird that it's so obscure there. And yeah, Amazon does deliver most things internationally. You can get it from the marketplace for as low as $7 plus shipping, and marketplace orders all ship internationally too.
Also, you can always check (
www.abebooks.com) Abe Books in the future.

Also: there is more to comics than superheroes, thank god. Give Blankets a try.
