Long Halloween and its sequel aren't bad, but don't expect to be able to treat them like an actual murder mystery.
Also, you might like Astro City - not gritty like Watchmen, but more 'grounded' than some of the comics it riffs off.

Doesn't have to be the exact same thing, got some catching up to do so I'll take any recommendation. Problem is that this graphic novel thing is just not there here, had to order Watchmen which appears to be pretty big in the states, It was also rather expensive, around 100 in dollars for an english version.

Ouch, that's pretty bad. Y'know, I'm pretty sure Amazon and the like will deliver to the Netherlands - they'll probably charge for the privilege but I suspect the cost will still be cheaper overall.

Make that 80, but still a bit on the expensive side, I can understand that it's much more costly to print than just text but still. I'll take a look at Amazon, but it probably needs creditcard, and this recession falls on the just and unjust alike.

Holy shit dude, that's pricey. If you don't mind not being able to carry them around (unless you have them on a laptop) there are other ways to read comics, especially if you don't have any money. Refer to what I said to scarykitties a page or two ago.

After 6 volumes of genius I've finally waded through B.Bendis's run on Daredevil.
Fucking phenomenal writing and the end of it when Daredevil ends up in prison alongside Kingpin, Owl and Bullseye was great even if it did have me punching a hole in the wall in frustration.
Curious to get started on the Brubaker storyline now.

100 dollars for the Watchmen?
Man, I'll post you a copy for far, far less.
(Well worth the 100 dollars though BTW;))
My copy's over 20 yrs old but I can buy one for a (

Take a lot at play.com as well. Their selection of comics probably isn't as good as amazon's, but you should be able to pay with a debit card, and shipping's free.

Thanks, found many a cheaper alternative, made the mistake of ordering it at the bookstore instead of the internet. An English copy is still expensive, and I hate translations I like to read it in the language it was written. Ordered the walking dead for 35 (+/- 50 dollars) euro which isn't too bad
