Mere carnival!?, more like -THE- carnival! :D
Well, when you have something every year you only notice that it's special when it's gone.

Or the London Underground.
Well, that I didn't know. But I have to say that I never, really never found a Brazilian that doesn't lives in Brazil throught internet.

You do have amongst the best foods in the world, though (picaña!!!!).
Picaña? That's a city, as wikipedia tells me. Do you mean Picanha? It's a bovine meat cut.

Hey I spent Sring Break in Rio & surrounds not too long ago. I think one thing I liked most was hanging out with some random Brazillians that I met in my travels on the beach one night; some had guitars and I played some Bob Marley songs they all (sort of) sang along, but they were all really into it and even moved with emotion. Really music-loving and people-loving place. Another thing that was interesting to me -- since I lived in Japan for a while -- was how many of Japanese-descent lived in Brazil, even second- and third-generation.

Enchant - I got 4 words for you to that statement:
Nude Hot Brazilian Women.
No offense to women, but I disagree.

You're missing the whole "I'm not gay, I'm just not interested in watching a bunch of naked women, much less men, at the Olympics' opening ceremony" point. :p
And anyway, you think they'd let them perform nude on primetime television? I doubt it.
